Hensley Fabricating & Equipment Co., Inc. started out with very humble beginnings in 1962. Paul and Joyce Hensley, Founders of Hensley's, started out in the millwright and grain conveying industry with just a small shop and a few employee's. The first piece of literature came out in the mid-60's with the slogan, "The Midwest's Quality Service Millwright." With quality and service at the top of the list of priorities, Hensley's soon became well-known for high quality equipment.

With approximately 10 service crews on the road, Hensley's soon outgrew the current building. With a couple of additions of building space and equipment, Hensley's line of equipment expanded to include Bucket Elevator Legs, The Hensley Rotary Scalper for bean processing, Distributors, Bins and other miscellaneous equipment. A recession in the early 1980's hindered growth for a couple of years, but business would soon pick up to the hey-day of the 70's.

A year of change. After 26 years in the Grain Handling Industry, Hensley's had the opportunity to buy out the remains of a small company by the name of I&M Manufacturing, a producer of steel feed bodies and ANFO Units and Bins, which was also started in the early 1960's. This acquisition proved to be a success when sales started to come in, and the need for more employee's, equipment and building space became, once again, a priority. Paul's son, Gregg Hensley, headed up production of Feed and ANFO Bodies, while Paul took care of the booming Grain Handling side of the business.

With production now speeding along, the first All-Aluminum trailer was produced. With Herbruck's Poultry Ranch in Michigan placing the first order, other large producers and mills followed suit. Hensley's became a prominent name in the Michigan area, and soon became specialist's in the enormous 4,5,6 and even 8 axle trailers that ruled on Michigan roadways. With sales up, Hensley's competitors took notice, and the need for a new, larger plant was eminent. Construction was completed in 1993, and the feed bodies & trailers were moved from the cramped, original plant to the "New" building where production was now smooth-flowing and free of obstacles.
